To James Melvin Cripps;
My name is James Earl Santos and I’m an army Veteran stationed at Fort Gordon in June of 1977 for BMT and telecommunications schooling. During my time in training I had come down with a virus infection once in July and was again diagnosed with a flu-like virus in November of 1977. I believe in science and their combined agreement of the dangers when agent Orange was released on all living things and possibly a molecular level?.. I have IHS, ischemic heart disease with a couple other diseases thrown in for good measure. I have not been able to convince our Va system that agent orange is more likely than not the culprit. That’s enough for my story. I wanted to express my gratitude to you and literally for the support and hope you have given me and other veterans and their families. You have single handed made all congress look over their shoulders and perhaps some will see they have wronged us. No amount of money can undo what they done. God bless you and your family …

The VA and the DOD have never conceeded that tactical herbicides were ever used at Fort Bemming. I doubt that they ever will.
